10th Annual Kicking Up Our Heels

It’s our 10th Anniversary Reception of the CWD’s “Kicking Up Our Heels – Celebrating Women in Washington State”

Please join us at the Governor’s Mansion on the Capitol Campus in Olympia on Tuesday, March 6th from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

This year we honor our women lawyers, starting with the top woman lawyer in the state: Gov. Chris Gregoire, who before being our Governor for the last eight years was our Attorney General. Washington State is now one of the top three states where there are now more women graduating from our law schools than men. And those women are more often than not going on to careers in public policy and politics. Washington’s advocates for education, children’s issues and health care are lead by some of the top women lobbyists. In addition, Washington is one of a very few states where almost 50% of the Supreme Court Justices – including the Chief Justice – are women. As you know, Gov. Gregoire helped start the Center for Women & Democracy and has been on or supported several of our Global Mission throughout the world. She has generously welcomed us to the Governor’s Mansion every year of her service. She has decided not to seek a third term, which makes this celebration even more special.

You’ll get three passes to the event;
You’ll be listed on our invitation;
You’ll be acknowledged by the Governor herself.
You’ll be invited to join us on the trip down and back on executive buses where you will meet with 25 top women leaders also sponsoring this event;
We’ll get you a parking pass to leave your car at Safeco Field while we are in Olympia
